We all rely on nature, but the way in which we use natural resources unfortunately has enormous consequences, both for the planet and for the people inhabiting it.
As a market leader in our industry – and as an internationally expanding company – we understand the importance of our sustainability societal responsibility. Our goal is to be a leading figure of sustainability within our industry, meaning we wish to meet current consumption needs without impairing the possibility of future generational needs. And we are already off to a good start!
For us at Mill, accepting a larger societal responsibility means, among other things, combining our stylish designs with advanced technology and innovation.
We are constantly working on creating smart, attractive products that allow the consumer to take part in how they spend energy on heating. That way, we can all actively contribute to lowering our energy consumption. We have already developed solutions that make it easier for consumers to save energy through our investment in smart technology. With the Millheat app, you can create a weekly, customised schedule that allows you to both save energy and enjoy a comfortable temperature in your home. This is smart technology and innovation that benefits both your wallet and the environment.
Sustainable development is about meeting the current consumption needs without impairing the possibility of coming generations meeting their needs. To understand how we in Mill can accept the greatest of social responsibilities, we have gone through the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. We have reviewed them thoroughly in order to understand, select, and implement the goals that are most relevant to Mill, and that have the greatest impact.
This goal entails promoting lasting, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full employment and decent work for everyone. We believe no-one can do everything, but everyone can do something.
This goal entails ensuring sustainable patterns of consumption and production. We look forward to continuing our journey to a more sustainable planet.
This goal entails immediate action to fight climate change and its consequences. We firmly believe the future is bright!
In addition to our user-friendly Mill app for monitoring and controlling energy consumption with our smart heaters, we have created a smart plug. Launched in 2016, our Mill WiFi Socket updates old heaters to smart technology and additionally extends heater life – in other words, you don’t need to buy a new heater to have a smart heater.
Mill aims to transform the way our products are developed, produced and recycles based on the principles of circular economy, and has an ongoing initiative to reduce plastic and packaging. We, for example, aim to remove all styrofoam and non-recycled plastic, use recycled cardboard and FSC certified cardboard in all packaging, and increase use of recycled materials in all our products.
Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something. We look forward to continuing our journey to a more sustainable planet, and we firmly believe that the future is bright.
